I'm different. Some say in a good way. Some might say in a weird way. My kids would say in a fun way.
I'm a Saab in a world of Chevys. A Mac in a PC world. A fountain pen in a smartphone universe. A (very occasional, I promise) pipe smoker in a world of tobacco health warnings. I don't just "like" things, I know about them, I learn all I can about them, hell, I obsess about them. I've lived, I've travelled, I've suffered, I've triumphed and I've lost and it's all in here waiting to be discovered. I'm eccentric. There isn't rhyme or reason to a lot of me, but it's fun. Life with me is like an episode of the Muppet Show. It's chaotic at times, full of stuffed furry creatures with bizarre character traits, occasionally grumpy but at the end of the day full of childlike wonder and laughter.
I once stole a pub sign from an English country village. I've climbed a barbed wire fence because I was too lazy to walk the long way home. I trained my dog to play dead when a banana was pointed at her. I like military band music. I've been slapped in the face with a wet fish, and bragged about it afterwards.
I'm happily Canadian but unashamedly British at times. Why not make the most of dual citizenship? Canadians know about sport and the outdoors and freedom. The British know about beer, sex and how to tie a proper bowtie. Not necessarily in that order. It's been quite a journey, but there's way more distance to cover, so if you're not near the end of yours, if you're still discovering and still have lots in you to be discovered then drop me a line. What is an outgoing introvert? - well, it's an introvert that isn't shy. I get along with all sorts of people, and am not shy about getting to know people. However, I am an introvert in that I need alone time and not people to recharge my batteries. I also prefer one on one or small group activities and conversations as opposed to large gatherings. I am, as a result, mostly a homebody that does enjoy meeting new people, having good company and engaging in good discussions. However, I can easily get bored with smalltalk.

So what words do family and friends use to describe me? "One big brain", "sweet", "honest", "outgoing", "quiet", "spiritual". A lover will also quickly discover that I am sensual, and that I enjoy a high level of intimate contact.
Let me go through through those descriptions to give a better idea of who I am:
One big brain - I am in my thoughts a lot. Sometimes I get lost in them. I may randomly jump from one topic to another because I'm juggling a few topics in my mind. My mind is quick and has a sense of humour, and you'll often find me making an apt witty or sarcastic comment. My mind is filled with information, and hungers for more. I deal best with people that are naturally curious, or are otherwise apt to engage in intellectual conversations. I don't need a genius, just someone who can follow along and be a part of the conversation.
Sweet - I have a huge heart. That doesn't mean I let myself be taken advantage of, but rather that I always try to make sure everything is going well with the people that are important in my life. I don't want to screw over people just because they've done something against me - but that doesn't mean I'm a pushover either. As I don't want to be taken advantage of, I would need a partner that has a good heart as well.
Honest - I tell it how it is. With me, there is no need to wonder what exactly I mean, and if you ever find yourself wondering what's going on, just ask. My honesty can be brutal, but it's not meant to hurt people. I would need a partner that can be honest with me as well.
Outgoing - I have no problem meeting new people, though I do prefer small groups over large gatherings. Large gatherings freak me out a bit.
Quiet - This goes with the big brain - sometimes I'm just in my mind and quiet. But no worries, I'll snap out of it fairly quickly especially if there is a good reason to talk :) I would thus need a partner who can respect my need for quiet alone time sometimes. For me, the best kind of quiet alone time is being in my little bubble, but still physically close to my partner (who may or may not also be in her own little bubble).
Spiritual - I am a very spiritual person, though not at all religious. I would need a partner who can accept me as I am in this regard.
Sensual - Touch and intimacy are my dominant ways of expressing and feeling love in a relationship. This can be as simple as holding hands, but extends to caressing, cuddling, massages, fondling etc. I would thus need a partner that feels the same way about touch and intimacy.

So, what am I looking for really? Well, I would like to eventually found a family with a woman who becomes the best friend I can have. In the meanwhile, I believe it's important to get to know each other well as friends, and when the chemistry is there, as more than friends. When one can be comfortable with the other without hiding or covering any part of his or her mind, heart or body, then love is possible.
I don't smoke, nor do I drink, and I would appreciate having a partner who does neither as well. I am also a vegetarian, so if you cook me a lovely steak it may have to go to waste unless you find another mouth to feed. I do know how to cook some very delicious vegetarian meals, however.
