The traditional sort of relationship between man and woman. Like with our grandparents. I want to know what it feels like to be together for 50 years with someone and grow old. That sort of sacred vow of commitment and eventual unconditional love. Except with a few modern tweaks. For example, I don't mind if the woman wishes to support our family financially. It's quite good I think because I enjoy working from home.

I don't care much for discussing favorites. Our hobbies become superficial things. I have music that would blow your mind.

Want to know what I think a good woman is? Someone who doesn't turn their back that easily. Someone who's sweet. Someone who holds on for a long time if not forever. Most women can't do this but I feel and know there are a few who fit this description.

My partner needs to be a best friend, lover, sister, and yes even mother. I think all of these above traits are important. Likewise, I will be a good best friend, lover, brother, and yes father for her.

Too much gets lost from childhood. It's important to be mature. Often times we forget how we simply need to be loved and held. This is especially true for those of us mostly alone.

This advert will not fit most self-proclaimed "independent women". So please don't waste your time and mine. I need someone who really knows themselves but who's also open to improving each other together. I like to think outside of the box but I do believe in a tightknit relationship.

I'm a strong supporter of men's rights. I was beat pretty badly (both emotionally and physically by my mom while growing up). It was more than a decade ago but sometimes I just need lots of pure love. So I do need to find a genuinely gentle woman to share this love.

It's not all so serious. I love to laugh and smile. I love beaches and rainforests. Oregon has both. I love cold and tropical weather.

I don't have forever to play games. I'm turning 30 this year and would like to meet someone who's ready for commitment right now. Which I've had before. My last two relationships lasted two and three years respectfully. I'd like to have one that lasts for longer.

But I mean I wish to actually be living together in the near future. No joke. I have learned and observed from past relationships that for me I need to be with someone 24 hours per day to truly "know" them.

Now for the exciting part.. I've lived in Thailand for 2.5 years, China for 2 years, and Indonesia for almost a year. I've gone to Australia (2001) and New Zealand (2008) on work visas. I've spent five months each in both India and Fiji on separate shoestring trips. Last year I went to Europe and backpacked around for three months. I love talking travel and meeting other travelers or people interested in travel. There are so many opportunities in the world.
