What is NORMAL these days? Are there any REAL women left? (San Diego)
Sh.... I don't even know anymore. I've been posting on craigslist for a while now and it's pretty tough to find normal/mature people. Seems with time, the quality of people is only getting worse.
Being genuine is seen as fake...the list can go on.
I know one thing that is normal in this life. CHANGE. Things aren't the way they used to be AT ALL (that's for sure). Boys who haven't matured posing as men and girls doing the same, lol. I always thought a man was someone who owns up to his mistakes and is honest to others as he is to himself. One who respects others while standing up for what he believes (with reason) and only uses force only to defend himself (sometimes others).
Hmph... I remember a time where a woman accepted a man for WHO he is and what he was made of. Not what he looked like...how deep his pockets are. But maybe that's what happened because men took advantage of that for so long. I'm sure that's not every man and woman tho...
Everyone makes mistakes and I believe in attraction but being shallow is such a waste of time. There has to be a medium (in my opinion).
What happened to liking someone for WHO they are? Seems like everyone is wrapped up in the idea of what a man and woman looks like
(thank you TV and bad parenting - sarcasm).
They forgot the simple things in life. (just to name a few)
-Laughter
-Fun
-Adventure
-Companionship
I believe that one who takes care of their body is attractive because it shows that they have love for their own. If you're a BBW, I'm not saying it's your fault and I don't wanna talk to big people. I'm simply saying that if you're heavy, don't make it an issue where you don't wanna go out or be negative about it (if that makes sense).
I don't mind either way as long it's under control and you're realistic/positive. I'm concerned about the mind and heart.
Maturity, creativity, thoughtfulness, etc.
So why am I posting? To see who's out there. I'm not from the area (bay area) but I'm looking to see who's out there. I've had some responses and most don't have enough follow through or substance. So many ppl claim to be down to earth and will talk to anyone (yea right). And most of them are full of crap and some are very bland... Nonetheless, you email me, the simple fact you took the time to punch in those stupid codes (I can never get it right the first time, lol), type an email and send it. That deserves a response. And the more you share, the better. :p
We are all "looking" for someone... But what are we DOING to find someone? Unless you talk to every man, woman, human on this planet, who are you to know who's perfect for you?
If you're a single mom, just be responsible and always have yours kid(s) as number one. They need you most and one day they will fall in love. Don't show them random ppl leaving in and out of their lives.
I'm not hunky but I'm definitely not ugly...although ironically, I have been called both, lol. I Just don't look at myself like that. I'm in shape, have all my body parts (thankfully), honest, loyal, smart, nice, witty/sarcastic yet tasteful/playful and 6' tall. I have a great sense of humor, am of Mexican/Italian decent but all this doesn't mean shhhh without personality, right? :P
I have that too but you can... call me honesty or the truth. I don't have trouble finding people but when I do, hardly anyone can handle me, lol. So my problem? I'm too honest and very forward. Granted I'm not perfect but I am honest. LMAO. go figure?! I'm nice but I tend to meet the wrong kind of so-called "women" who haven't matured but hide it well at first. I'm not into one night stands, the bar or club scene unless it's for stand up comedy.
Ppl are in a rush to get in a relationship these days and it's crazy.
What's wrong with taking things slow and being friends so you can get to know a person?
Why is that too much to ask? Lol.
It's probably a scary thing huh... Maybe because those ppl are scary themselves and don't want you to find out. :/
Or maybe there just isn't much to them (sadly).
It all catches up with you sooner or later so if you want something real, keep it real people.
A good home cooked meal doesn't start in the microwave... And that's the best food in the world because a home cooked meal (not the microwave) is usually made from scratch with genuine care, time... AND LOVE.
And although not everyone can be a great cook - a great cook and can come from anywhere.

Now some will judge me for this and some will appreciate it but I do stand up comedy myself (when I have the time that is). If you like what you read, you may just like my style (although this is more my serious side if anything, lol).
I do not like being the center of attention but I LOVE COMEDY and even the quality of THAT is going down.
I bring this up to point out that...I'm the type who'd rather try to make a difference than just sit around and complain about things. I'm not asking you to check out my page or my comedy but if you happen to be interested or would like to show support, the only thing I would ever ask for is a simple like on my facebook fan page or a like/subscribe on my YouTube channel. I am small time and all I really wanna do is make people smile and laugh again.
Other than that, I believe if I have the talent and the passion. Along with time/effort, good things will come my way if it's meant to be. And just like this post, I know it will take some time. But I don't give up very easily unless I know it's clear it doesn't work. Stand Up comedy isn't on that list just yet. :P

Tell me what it is that makes a woman want to be the best friend, companion, lover and most of all genuine for the man they love. I took Shotokan Karate for 8 years, and am looking to start teaching it as another means of income.
I'm a lover of fantasy, especially in movies and books, and I'm in the process of writing a fantasy novel. My favorite book series is Sword of Truth, and I think that Wizard's First Rule is possibly the greatest literary creation in the history of man. (Seriously, if you haven't read it, read it. The series is like paper crack.)
I've been a very passionate gamer since about the age of six, and it's an incredibly important facet of my life. It has shaped my personality in ways that nothing else could have, and has definitely done so for the better. :) It has given me a much more open mind, a broad scope of knowledge, and a love of rational thinking and puzzle solving.
I'm drug and alcohol free, and I believe that that is the optimal way to live your life. I'm not opposed to being with a girl who smokes pot or drinks from time to time, as that is really not very harmful, but anything harder or more frequent is not acceptable.
My sense of humor is highly sarcastic and immature at times (Who isn't, really? :P). I love South Park, Community, Arrested Development and Whose Line is it Anyway, though I don't really watch much TV. Intelligent humor is incredibly hard to accomplish, but is fantastic when it is done correctly. George Carlin is my favorite comedian, and he's my hero.
I'm a cat person, and I have two fantastic kitties right now :D. I'm not opposed to dogs at all, and I've met some dogs that I thought were great, but in general I much prefer cats :).
The way that I go about problem solving and looking at the world is through logic, reason, and research, and this includes relationship problems. I think that it is incredibly important to let your significant other know immediately when you are having a problem, and to do so in a non-accusatory, calm manner, and resolve the problem through reasonable discussion and compromising. Because of the way that I look at the world, I am a militant atheist, and religion disgusts me. I have done the research, used logic and reasoning, all through a skeptical and non-biased eye, and have come to the reasonable and rational conclusion that religion is nothing more than a global scam and method of mind control. I also am not fond at all of the government, and I think the way that this country is run is abysmal.
I always try to treat women with respect and reverence, and I love spoiling the special girl in my life and making her feel loved and cared for, and making her happy. I think that I'm very emotionally in-tune, and do a very good job understanding, listening to, and solving emotional problems. I love to listen and to communicate, and I think that the most important aspect of a relationship is communication. I touched on this before, but I firmly believe that a happy relationship cannot exist without mature, rational communication about anything and everything. There should be no topics that are off-limits to discuss, nor ones that you feel uncomfortable discussing. I also believe that other very important aspects of a good relationship are: Similar personalities, but not so similar that it feels like looking in a mirror. The differences in personality can make the relationship exciting and fun, as you learn about something that you never really experienced before. I think that an open mind to whatever your significant other likes that you may not like yourself is also very important - you don't have to like it, but it's good to respect it and understand it. I think that just enjoying each other's company is something that is sadly dwindling from more and more relationships. I will do something or go somewhere that I may not particularly like, but because I am with the girl that I care about, it becomes fun and enjoyable, especially if she is enjoying herself :). Being willing to compromise and not always needing to have your way is essential; I am fairly easygoing, but it's not right or fair to treat your significant other in such a manner. I know that mentioning sex is not really appropriate in something like this, but I also believe that a healthy and passionate sex life is very important to the success and happiness of a relationship.
The most attractive quality in a woman to me is intelligence. A woman can be as beautiful as she wants, but if her head is empty, then I'm not interested. I want someone with whom I can have intelligent conversations and who understands how the world works, someone who is not ignorant or closed-minded.
I tend to get along with women a little older than me, but I'm perfectly willing to go out with someone my own age if we get along :).

Hopeless Romantic Christian Man (North County) 20yr
I like what most people consider an old fashioned woman. One that waits till the third date to just kiss, plays hard to get, and puts God first. I like a woman that respects herself both physically and mentally. A little bit about myself. I am a 6'4", 230lb, brown haired and brown eyed power lifter (that means I go to the gym 5 days a week).
