7. The transmission in my car went out and I cannot pay to get it fixed.

Durango area motorcycle ride 4/30 (Durango) 62yr
I'm a retired professional fundraiser turned nomad, currently apprenticing in a Utah bistro. On my days off (M&T) I like to explore the region on my motorcycle. Out-of-the-Box - Please!!! (Grand Junction) 53yr
I would most probably consider myself a humanitarian first. I have traveled to Haiti several times since the earthquake and go with no one but myself. . ...the model of what I do there is pretty simple. . ...I just take my backpack with a tent and sleeping bag and the other bare essentials like I take to the desert. I set up in someone's front or back yard and just help them do what they may done. . ...it can be from helping clean the rubble or just giving them a break by cooking them dinner. Most all families are so stressed out with the majority of the population living in three major camps with hundred's of thousands in each camp. Sean Penn runs the largest one which is in downtown Port au Prince. By the way he is a hero of mine. He is really doing the deal. I have traveled to Nepal three times to help rebuild their decaying water delivery systems. At this writing I forming a non-profit that within a year I hope to be funding projects, mainly in Africa to drill wells. Bad water or lack of water is the leading cause of death in the third world countries I will be going into. But, that is down the road. I am going to start thecampaign to get it off the ground by hitting ALL of the media on the Western Slope and as a community of Western Sloper's we adopt a town -- country and we actually see our money go to work.
I make a living a lot of different ways, I have been a real estate broker for 30 years, I do hard money lending to save people's properties from the frigg'in banks, buy old crappy apartment complex's and turn them into green, sustainable small living units. With the market being what it is that model is broken at the moment and I am afraid it will never come back. In fact, I do not think real estate will ever come back. If you have been to Russia or Norway, Sweden, Denmark ect you probably have noted that a great many of these people live in government co-ops. That is where I see the US heading. . .. . .. . ..
I purchased a 100 year old home in historic downtown Grand Junction a few years ago and tore out all of the grass and turned the front and backyyard into a garden to feed my neighbors (and myself) I have done all of the work on the home and built it to make people feel peaceful when they are here and for the most part have succeeded. Everything on my walls has a story to it.
I love to have fun (lots of it!) and a couple of years ago took up skydiving and jump often. I LOVE the deserts of SW Utah and almost live there in the Spring and Fall. I go deep into the desert and rarely see anyone. In the winter on most full moons I go to Moab and just hike Arches (due to safety) without a headlamp and if you have never done it, you must. . .. . ..the canyons are so surreal with the moonlight. And. . .. . ...there are no tourists there in the Winter. So I have a great, almost spiritual love for the outdoors and let it take advantage of me whenever possible. Music is a true passion of mine. I write it, play it, listen to it and program it. I am a programmer for our local Community Radio Station. . ..so tune in. Wilco is my favorite live band and just saw them in Denver last month. I love Americana and eclectic rock and a lot of classic rock like TP and the Heartbreakers, Dire Straits, ect. . .. . .I usually hit a couple of Redrocks show a year. I am a blast to be with as I live life with a zest, complain little, and have a great sense of humor. I am very loyal and have never cheated on a girlfriend or even to sharing them with a special person.. I have been out of any serious relationship since my near death as I discovered I needed to work on myself first before committing to a relationship. I am now ready and really, really think I now would be a great partner. I love to hold hands (sometimes I think that is more intimate than sex!) and I do like to cuddle and in front of a fireplace. Movies I like are the Artsy ones. . ..they show them at the Avalon (I live 4 blocks from there is you know where the Avalon is at) a lot and sometimes I just show up not knowing what I am going to see. . ...I really enjoy the performing arts and about a year ago saw Al Pacino perform the "Merchant of Venice" in NYC and it brought tears to my eyes. Just saw the Lion King at the Buell two months or so ago with my little niece. At those events I buff out and usually wear a nice suit but quite frankly I am more comfortable in jeans with holes in them and old concert shirts. . ...I like wearing scarves and have bunches of them. My mother has either wove them or knitted them for me. She is teaching me to knit but it is hard for me because I am left handed. I know a lot about the opera but not much about ballet so I would need some teaching there. . ...and I am more than willing to learn. I am a very good cook and like to have as much help as possible but I am a better baker. I to am always up for new things. It is amazing to me how so many people get caught in a rut. . ...I am "rutless". . .. . .I have lots the tree and watch them feed from my bed. I call my house "my art project."
I have a small condo in Boulder that I go to when GJ gets to Republican on me. . .. . ...my sister teaches school in Boulder so I go to see her as well as she is one of my best friends. I drink hardly at all and do not do drugs. Life really is to short to have it "blurred away" I am a very trustworthy, so honest it gets me in trouble sometimes and like I said very loyal and really DO care about the world and the people in it.

Unique idea?
Well, it's a unique idea for me. I'm thinking of sharing a place. I work in the oil and gas industry and am here on the Slope two weeks and then home two weeks. I'm not married, totally unattached. I'll pay for the place and the utilities, food......
I'd like some one that would be there when I'm not, tend to and nurture the philodendron, spider plants etc, keep the place tidy and homey. And also be there when I am there. We'd want to be friends. There would be benefits for you and me too! Total freedom when I'm not there. Sometimes I'd not go home by the way, if you wanted me to stick around for my days off. But, I do have kids, grown, but still need their Dad and also have a home and other stuff that needs attended to on some sort of regular basis.
You should be at least 40. I prefer tall since I am. Like to have fun, hot springs, hikes, friends, parties. HWP, like me.
We'd have to get together for dinner a few times to see if we like each other. Can trust each other.....that sort of thing.
I don't think this idea is all that wacky. For you, it could make a ton of financial sense and be fun as well. For me, I'd not have to live at the rig when I'm at work and I'd have the pleasure of your company on my off hours and the days off you want me to hang around.
You probably need to be just the kind of gal I'd like a lot to do something like this. Adventurous, extremely self confident, bold. And good with house plants, I love house plants so much.
