Don't ask where are all the good men (Read the post carefully)

Don't ask where are all the good men, rather ask yourself, am I a good person. If you are a women, seeking a man, open to a (very) LTR, and are tired of all the cliche's, but are not yourself a cliche, then please respond with a photo, and I will return the favor.

I read where everyone on C/L and those famed single sites seems to enjoy moonlit walks on the beach. So I figured this would be a nice place to meet someone, on a moonlit beach. When I walked on the moonlit beaches of both Connecticut and Rhode Island, I was alone...no one else was there. What's up with that? So much for truth in advertising! Sad part is, I really do enjoy moonlit walks on the beach. Its great to find a spot, snuggle up, pop the cork on a nice bottle of wine or Champagne and relax and watch the moonlight reflect off the waves of the sea.

So the bottom line is, I've notice how so many women ask if there are any decent or good or honest guys out there. There is a saying that you reap what you sow, which comes to mind here.

I'm a middle age (age is a matter of mind, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter) guy. EZ on the eyes by most accounts, and I do sport a well trimmed beard. I'm six feet tall, with a very full head of hair. I shave and shower more often than most, and mind my p's and q's. Aside from a 20 plus year commitment to the last person I shared my life with, on average I tend to be in long term relationships. Not vane, but I am a great person to be with, not perfect, have my quirks and my baggage, but I know how to treat a women, who knows how to reciprocate. I've had enough of the needy and mighty, looking for those that are alrighty (what can I say, I like to have fun with words, as long as it's honest, and authentic).

When I read the posts of many women, it reads as if all men are sex crazed, ego centric, layabouts, who sit in front of the tube or a bar, and seldom work or have any ambition. If that is your thought of men, or your experience, please pass me by. I don't want to be responsible for anyone going into shock.

I've had my ups and downs in life. I'm not your everyday kinda guy, and I don't want an everyday kinda girl. If you are fit, fun, and functional, then you've got a chance. I don't have kids, but have no aversion to them, so don't let that hold you up.

You can't introduce me to an animal I don't care for. From Dogs to Cats, Alpaca's and horses, even lions, tigers and bears (oh my).

On the other hand, if you don't like to bike, skate, work out, run or something along these lines, then I'm not the guy for you. Mind you, I'm no athlete, I do like healthy people, and healthy activities. Also, if you are a person with a phobia for adventure, then you really want to pass me by.

If you cook, I'm a willing victim, who enjoys joint adventures in the kitchen, and is willing to share the BBQ as well with those who dare to venture there. I love exploration of restaurants, but I don't make it a daily habit. If you smoke, sorry, move on. If you have an aversion to those of us who enjoy a drink, well, that too would not work with me. I'm a skilled mixologist, and I hope to improve on that. I also enjoy wine's and the like.

If you think sex is a tool of attraction, or a weapon of negotiation, move on. If you believe sexuality is part of a healthy, and enjoyable relationship, that is to be explored, enjoyed and reciprocated, then share with me your deepest desires and let's enjoy natures plan.

Have you been married a few years? It's not what we expected at all, is it? Have you come to the place in life where you start to wonder "Is this all there is to life?" Do you have that socially awkward feeling that marriage is really not a happy situation for anyone we know personally? So many of us play by the the same rules; we get married, we have kids, we stay faithful, we work, we pay our bills, we manage our household, we spend time with family...and then somewhere a few years into married life we feel sort of empty inside like there is something missing. It's not so much that our life is awful, it's just that romance and a satisfying love life seem to be missing. We love our kids, and that is enough to stay together, but we stop loving each other as much. We are not intimate very often, and romance is really a thing of the past. Do you ever look at your spouse and just wonder how you ended up with this person? We have so many little differences that make life difficult, and we irritate each other when we spend too much time together (Sigh) What do you do when you get to this place in life? We certainly did not plan to end up here...

Maybe we can learn from each other at the very least, or maybe we are lucky and find that we are interested in more than friendly emails. I'm open to being just penpals too, sometimes we just need to vent our frustrations to someone who understands. I'm really not the type to sleep around, and given the reputation of Craigslist, I somehow doubt that anything will come of this ad.
