Observation from a "Hopeless Romantic" (New Orleans) 48yr
I am sitting at my favorite coffee shop and enjoying a little work and people watching and I have a little show playing out in front of me.
A new couple (you can tell) is sitting a couple tables away from me. He is talking up a storm, speaking vividly with his hands about something that he must really be passionate about. This reminds me a lot of me. I am a very animated speaker, especially when it's something I truly care about. But enough about him.... what really has my attention is his date. She is not overly cute, but what catches my attention is the way she is gazing into his eyes. every few seconds she lets out a burst of smile. Obviously she adores him and is trying not to miss a single word.
People put way too much emphasis on materialist things when it comes to being A HOPELESS ROMANTIC. It's not all about trinkets and flowers. To me, being a hopeless romantic is all about these brief moments. A longing to be the man catching a special woman's attention ... if only for a moment. .
See, I am not one of those guys that says "I don't want to get hurt... I don't want to fall in love." What a waste of life!!! I like being loved and I love being loved. and even more --- I love being IN LOVE. Forget procreation, we were put on this earth to love. That's why I think humans have such a long child rearing period.... so we can love our kids for a whole couple decades before sending them on their own.
OK... I'm really not a stalker. I just saw this amazing drama unfolding in front of me and just had to share it with the ether.... err, craigslist community. If you are like me and just adore the idea of sharing a moment like this --- lets get together and just talk. I don't want to waste time with a date --- those are way too fake. I just want to sit, and meet a person like me over coffee. I want to learn what makes another person like me tick. I learn more and more about myself with every single interaction I have with folks so I look at my life as a longterm proces of learning and self improvement.
