I know this is a longshot but let's give it a try.
GL- many say VGL- divorced guy looking for someone to get to know and build a relationship with. I have HSV-2. At this point in life we all have "baggage"- mine happens to be health related. Dating midlife is hard enough- dating someone who *ALSO* has HSV-2 takes a great deal of (otherwise) very difficult stuff off the table, so that's what I'm looking for.
Now that that's out there, You don't have to be Playboy model material or drop-dead gorgeous, but lets face it- there has to be a mutual attraction. I'm just as comfortable riding 500 miles in a day on my motorcycle as I am going to a show in NYC, Toronto, or here at Syracuse Stage- I have many and varied interests.
Like I've said, at midlife everyone has baggage- the question is have you reconciled it and moved forward or is it still a controlling factor? Also, if you expect someone to accept and look past your not-so-perfect parts, are you willing to do the same for them?
5'10", 215, athletic build, salt and pepper hair (and still have all of it- was told by a female co-worker that my hair and perfect teeth were big things in midlife dating- interesting bar to measure guys by, but I guess thats the way things are)

None of them said for sewing on buttons, NONE! you would think for something as common as having to sew on a button there would be a thread that says, THIS IS PERFECT FOR BUTTONS!!! That would have been too easy though, these places purposely suck you in and and throw millions of things at you to keep you in there, and everyone knows that the longer you breath the air in a place like that, the more it sucks the manly right out of you. Not wanting to lose any more of my manhood than I already had by that time, I figured any one should work to hold a button on, right? So I find a row of red thread, and go to grab one, and wouldn't you know it, there are a zillion shades of red! WTF!! Completely frustrated and discussed at this point, I say screw it, I want to sew on a button, not figure out the mysteries of the universe, I'm just gonna use fishing line.
Fishing line is easy, its simple, and anyone can figure it out without an advanced degree in threadolgy. So I walked out of that infernal place and went get some nice simple fishing line. As I stood in front of the far to small selection of fishing line, I breathed a sigh of relief, this will be easy. Your choices are so much easier to make here, they only have two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, fourteen, sixteen, twenty pound test, low stretch, stretchy, extra stretchy, no stretch, limp, extra limp, low memory, no memory, high visibility, low visibility, invisible, red, pink, yellow, green, blue, clear,smoke, monofilament, braided, nylon, fluorocarbon, kevlar, standard thickness, thin, ultra thin, casting, bait casting, spinning, spin casting, fly, floating, sinking, floating with a sinking tip, tapered, non tapered, leader, mainline and that's about it, what could be simpler. They need a bigger selection, they just don't have everything I might need for every fishing situation I might have to deal with, I hate it when I don't have what I need when I need it. I figured 2 pound, transparent, low stretch, extra limp, fluorocarbon, leader material would work just fine to hold on a little button, and with trout season just around the corner I'll get some good use out of the rest of it. See, what was so difficult about that? Like I said, nice and easy, nothing could have been simpler. Why to women's stores have to make simple things so complicated?
I got home, shirt, button, and wonderfully simple fishing line in hand, and wouldn't you know it, I don't have a stinking needle! I think I'm just going to wear my blue shirt!

There is a whole world out there just full of things for us to explore, to see and do, to enjoy together, as we smile and laugh like children. I have no idea what a real man is, I've never seen one, have you? Different people have told me a lot of things about what one should be.
