That new iPhone voice activated personal assistant, Siri, is pretty damned good. Perhaps you've heard of her, you just talk into the phone and she pretty much does whatever you ask. For example, I once told Siri that I loved her and she coyly responded "we hardly know each other". The next time I did that, she said "I bet you say that to all the phones". I asked her if she was single and she said "no, there were millions of copies of her all over the country".
It is one thing to whisper sweet-nothings with a phone or have her remind you to pick up the shirts from the dry cleaners, but I decided to put her to work on a more challenging task. I told Siri to find me a girlfriend.
Oh sure, seems simple enough. But what followed was clear evidence that Siri is very much a woman.
"Siri, find me a girlfriend", I jokingly spoke to my phone.
"Searching contacts for girlfriend". One of those long, awkward pauses ensued, the kind of difficult one similar to looking around trying to find who passed gas at a dinner party. "I'm sorry", she finally continued, "there are no girlfriends in your contacts". Yeah, no kidding. My phone is making fun of me.
"I know Siri, I told you to find me a girlfriend", I instructed.
Siri paused, the little spinny thing spinning furiously, as if she were tapping her nails on the table and giving a furled eyebrow look. I was testing her algorithms for all she was worth.
"Ok then, what color hair does she need to have?" Surprised, I said that wasn't important.
"Ok then, how tall?" I am 5'10" and while I have no preferences, I said that I wanted someone shorter.
"Ok then, what should she do for a living?" Hmmm, I had to think about that one. Does it matter? I could select librarian, or teacher. Perhaps an engineer, those are always kind of fun dates. But no, the 'guy' in me took over and I blurted out ACTRESS.
"Ok then, searching the internet for bald midget porn actresses..." SIRI! I could hear her transistors cackling. My phone is pranking me, and it is enjoying it.
"Siri, be serious" I demanded, almost shouting into the phone.
"Ok then, this girl you wish to meet, are you planning on having sex with her?", Siri sternly grilled me. "Yes, I imagine at some point", I answered.
"The FIRST date?", she shouted, almost cutting me off and her voice inflecting upward. Sheepishly, with my shoulders defensively arching upward, I stated "maybe".

A friend and I had this discussion the other day. We were talking about the differences between male and female responses to sex, specifically on the singular act of sex (male) vs. the overall experience (female) and how it differed.
I believe that so many of my female colleagues (College Women and Young Professionals) are pretty close-minded when it comes to what happens in the bedroom. Surely most of them have had sex, but how many of them have been ravished? Teased? Pleasured?
That brings up "Sex and the City". Granted, I wasn't a big fan, but it did open up a lot of minds and new discussions on the gender and its role in the bedroom. I believe it single handedly made the rabbit vibrator a major success as well.
I know a lot of women would love to try just some of the things Kim Cattrall's character did. Personally, I take great pleasure introducing toys, light bondage, spanking and other unmentionables in the bedroom to willing girls who find them irresistible.
