Hello craigslist, I'm bored. I'm visiting here for a good while from back east (and pondering moving here, depending on how this extended visit goes), and besides my work and the occasional nature jaunt, I haven't had much to do! I'm quite different from your average Oregon resident (I did live in Portland for 4 years so I'm pretty familiar with the region), and a one-of-a-kind individual with a lot of great stories. I'm also not horrible looking, and as the picture proves, I like goofy sunglasses. These are my Warren Zevon (circa 1991) ones. I added one of me mostly clean shaven, when my hair was longer, just for the hell of it.

And I will also probably be a bit tragic in my various and unique levels of exquisite retardation.
First off, I've got some issues. I'm not going to get all into that here. It really goes without saying, since we all really have some issues.
But I thought it would be better to lead with that, than to go off on some rant about how awesome I am first. (Although, I am indeed very awesome :)
And I'm not just saying that. I mean it.
It has to be true.
My mom told me so. (and she is NEVER wrong. Just ask her!)
Alrighty, let's get down to business. What is the UP side to me?

I am a really good guy. I mean really good.
Isn't that all that's supposed to matter?
And by good I mean that:
I really care about people. I really make efforts to improve as a person. I'm one of those douche's who really thinks they can help make the world a better place and takes it (maybe a little bit too) seriously. I really work to develop myself to be a ever more understanding, compassionate, kind, aware and conscious type of motherfucker.
If that doesn't do it for ya, I'm pretty good looking. Tall, tan, fit, blue eyed, blondish brown. I rock my own styles, but I also rock all others with equal cat-walk ownership.
I'd say, despite it's unconventionality, I attempt an approach on life that I'd label as a Rockstar of Spirituality.
We can get more into that later.
Now let's get into some of the more juicy tid-bits of my ramshackle existence. This is where things take an unexpected turn (muah-ha-ha!!).
So I'm this reasonably intelligent, capable, dashingly handsome fellow (wink!), but after quite a few too many years being a slave for the machine, my true inner spirit just had had too much. So eventually it orchestrated events in such a way as to provide me with suitable motivation to jump off of the Carousel of Insanity that we call the daily grind.
I really wasn't prepared for this, nor was I raised with a pedigree nor penchant for pursuing such an ascetic lifestyle. Well, part of me yearned for it. But the system-tethered pussy I had become was terrified at the prospect of becoming "homeless" or "a traveler". And I'm still by no means at the level of the Rainbow hippies or the various other ultra-committed come-what-may types we got around here.
But what I did do, was just pack up and go start living in the woods. In a tent. Like a savage.
Crazy! I know!!
Nah, it's really not so crazy. In fact, most people around Oregon seem to really understand. It seems we all feel similarly about feeling like our souls and our entire lives are being vampired away by this hamster-wheel we all seem caught in. It's just that that's all we know, and the alternative, quite frankly, seems scary. (and also illegal)
Hell, if I wasn't a big ol' dude, who felt uncontrollably compelled to break out of that prison, I'm sure I'd be gladly painting the walls of my own cell. And believe you me, I'll be returning soon to a nice little temperature controlled living cubicle. Because let's face it, there are some really nice things about modern conveniences (like NETFLIX!! I can't WAIT to get my netflix back!).
But being a spiritual seeker, I had grown really sick inside (and out) from having become so disgustingly dependent on this lifestyle and ideology that I've never agreed with. To think! I was AFRAID of nature. After so many years of being disconnected from it (I'm from L.A.) I had become sheltered. And despite all my meditating and hiking and whatever, I wasn't really connected with my own mother (earth).
I'm still not. But I'm getting closer.
So yeah, I spent most my life working shitty jobs, living in less than desirable place, and struggling to survive in these boxes of life. I've also spent some time earning good money, living in better places, struggling less and having better boxes. But I kinda had God up my ass telling me that I was not going to find some of the most valuable and necessary components to happiness and true awareness, unless I walk away from the game a bit and go be a real person. Outside. On the ground. Under trees. In the rain.
I use no money. The universe provides for me in myriad ways. I'm also smart about it. I'm also very fortunate, because I live in Ashland.
Now, there are many interesting things going on with this little life experiment of mine. I'm attempting to find out for myself if all that shit Jesus (and every other super-being) talked about was true.
Where real happiness and peace comes from etc.
But one of my hurdles is my own thinking. For instance, I can get pretty lonely. I feel that being that i have no money, car or place to live, that I therefore would have a hard time making friends, doing stuff, and most importantly finding love and truly meaningful romantic connections.
I've got it in my head that for the most part, if you want to get with chicks, ya gotta have money.
And this bothers me. One of the things I'd really want to have in life is a connection with someone that TRULY went beyond anything material, and was all about the kind of love and goodness that we could produce TOGETHER, independent of outside conditions as dictated by society at large.
The truth is that I'd know that if I found that love NOW, in the circumstances that I'm in, that THAT would be a love that I could really count on, believe in, trust, and enjoy at the highest levels no matter what our financial future holds.
It would seem easy enough, wouldn't it? That I should just go find a nice hippie chick who also doesn't care about bullshit. Maybe I should. But I'm not exactly just your "normal" hippie guy. I'm really more of a futuristic hybrid. In fact, most of the time, people have no idea I'm homeless. I actually have to dress the part and make sure to be wearing my dirty back-pack! I see the good things of both worlds, and I just want to find the perfect balance for optimum life enjoyment.
I think that somewhere out there (probably closer than i realize) that there is love for me. Made just right for me, and vice versa.
Obviously, the person (or person's. more on that later) would appreciate what I'm doing and where I'm coming from on this. In fact, maybe it's something they've flirted with themselves a bit, if not fully gone at it (festival circuit, intentional living communities, under a bridge etc.) .
Let's go random as to some of the things I'm into, or looking for, or whatever:
I'm into health and spiritual shit. So I like to meditate and exercise and read and listen to spiritual lectures, do ceremonies and energy work, and just play with life in that way.
I also like to party. I like to hang out, get fucked up, laugh and enjoy the shit out of life.
I believe in balance.
So I'd really love it if the universe could deliver to me the suitable and perfectly harmonious love connection.
Another Spiritual Rockstar.
But I'm leaving myself open to what the universe wants to teach me (although I've really had enough of getting my ass kicked!).
The fact is that you just don't always know where the kinds of magical connections you can bake can come from. There have been times where I've inexplicably gotten along with people I could have never in a million years predicted. And was grateful for it.
So I guess I'm just looking for awesome people. I feel really confident that I'm just one of those types who can really channel positive life energies into anyone I connect with. And it seems like that's what we're supposed to be doing. So I'd encourage anyone who even just wanted to know another awesome person to make it happen with me. I study the science of reality a lot, and the smart people say that through the dynamic exchange of good energies between powerful spirits is how people make their dreams manifest.
But yeah man, I'm real grass roots though. I'm afraid that, for now, yer just gonna have to like me and value me for who I am. If that sounds interesting to you, than by all means hit me up. Like I said, this is an experiment to find true happiness, to break away from the empty addictions of activity we've grown accustomed to, and go out and see if we can reclaim our souls and our zest for life.
In my fantasy I see reaching that place where I'm always having a good time wherever I am. That it's always a party, or interesting, or exhilarating or rich with substance and meaning and intrinsic value and goodness.

I once had a relationship back in the day, where I got to experience a lot of really high levels of all of this stuff. And it was amazingly beautiful.
But I was young, and far more retarded than I am now. So that love had to really suffer and struggle and eventually collapsed.
I've since had all this time to grow and improve and prepare to do it the way it's got to be done.
God just has to have manifested herself into the perfect ally for me. I can just taste it.
And of course, it would probably come at a time like this, when I've been forcibly humbled, and made into a man by that humility.
Anyways, what are the chances that my co-conspirator would happen to be perusing CL and find my fervent post?
Maybe, someone reads this and thinks,"I have a friend who is just PERFECT for this poor bastard!".

I'm trying to remember what the point of this whole thing is... somehow you forget after awhile.
I see all sorts of post from women these days saying they want a successful guy. A man who's got it all figured out. Who's fun... attractive... and whatever else. What's the point of saying that? Don't we all want that on some level? Isn't the whole point of relationship and being together about something completely different than that? I'm not looking for a perfect women who's got it all together... in fact what I am looking for isn't that...
I just want to find some peace of mind among all this insantity...

Summer Time Adventures (Central Point) 30yr
Its summer again finally!!! I have more free time in the summer and I like that. I work hard and do everything I can to make sure I play hard. I try to do something every weekend if I can and am looking for someone to accompany me on adventures. I like to do all kinds of different things hiking, mt biking, rock climbing, mountaineering, rafting, disc golf, camping, caving, driving to new places, just basically getting out of the house. are there any real southern oregon women (medford) 26yr
ok so i just moved to southern oregon and have come to the conclusion there are no women who actually want a relationship.
about me: age 26, height 5 11, weight 185, muscular build. i moved to southern Oregon start fresh, finish up my degree in nursing and respiratory care. i spent four years in the 75th Ranger division before i was injured in Iraq in 06. I work full time in the medical field so i do keep busy. i'm not into drugs or smoking. i don't mind going out and enjoying a beer or so once in a great while with other people but i never drink alone. i love being active, and i when i say active i don't mean moving from the couch to the refrigerator more then once during a movie. I love being out doors and doing everything from hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, rock climbing, extreme mountain biking. on the other hand i do like to spend the night in sometimes with someone and just watch a movie, play some games, yes i'm a gamer when i'm in the mood. cuddle, cook or just talk. there are times when i don't talk much, nothing against the people i'm around, just lost a lot of good friends and been through some really traumatic experiences over seas so sometimes the memories kinda get to me. thought i'd through that out there, i'm not some loon or anything, there are just somethings you never forget. i love kids, i do have one, i share custody with the mom, we get along good so there's no drama or fighting. i'm not into arguing or fights. actually hate fighting, or anything negative. i can keep myself entertained pretty easy and love to laugh. making other people laugh is a huge plus for me. i have a strange since of humor i guess, i don't mind ripping on myself in jokes, or poking fun at at anything i see, just remember i don't mean any harm, just like to laugh. i don't like uptight people, or someone who has a chip on their shoulder about every little thing. when it comes to eating, i'm a pretty healthy eater, i eat mainly fruit and lots of it. veggies and of course protein. i keep myself in the gym 5-6 days a week. i'm in no perfect bod but i don't have a problem running 5 miles a day and lifting pretty heavy so i think i'm doing good, i'm really into motor cycles, Harley's not those little crotch rocket things, i like the old classic style bikes so i take mine out whenever its nice.
if your still reading and haven't lost interest or as i have found out, a lot of women like to read these for fun, as if we are some how different from the average guy they'ed meet some where else..... but if you'd like to keep going i do have things i like to look for in women.
looks are not really important to me, ya you hear people say that and in most cases they are full of it, in mine, i really don't mind. i grew up believing all women are beautiful in their own way. who am i to judge what you have no control over? but yes i do obey simple rules of attraction. there has to be some physical connection there. please be motivated, nothing worse then someone who just goes through life looking for a free ride or waiting for something to come to them. don't be afraid to go after what you want. please be into physical fitness, i would like someone who can keep up with me, or give me a run for my money lol. every man likes a challenge and i'm no different. if you have kids or a past i don't mind. as i said i love kids and have a past my self. don't be drug user. i'v never used and see no point in them. life sucks sometimes i get it, but a quick fix dose not make anything go away. have a good head on your shoulders. ya long paragraph for a few simple wants. Sweet Insatiable Dorky Free-Spirited Sorta Hippie here... (Ashland) 32yr
.. who is tired of barking up the wrong trees. I don't really want one-night stands.... don't need or want an instant girlfriend or relationship, but of course I want to be in love again... I'm very communicative. intelligent, and somewhat of a sweetheart with a snarky attitude... I've jumped the gun myself and gotten too excited when I've met someone great, I tend to relax a lot more now, after taking a good bit of time off from dating and seeking in general. I've learned a lot of patience, without forgetting what I want and deserve. :) Can anyone else agree with that? I've lived all over the country, but I'm glad to be back here in Oregon after a bit of time back east. I literally JUST moved back, and only know one person in town! I want that to change. :)
I do miss having a girlfriend, that person I can call during the day, or send sweet/dirty little messages to in order to entertain myself at work.... that girl who calls, and smiles when I do. Someone who communicates and isn't afraid of themselves, intimacy, relationships, the quirks of their own sexuality - someone who just GETS it. Life is too short to overanalyze ourselves into corners. I'm not trying to rush right into commitment and all that (sometimes people do better without it honestly), I just know what I want in the long run. Tired of games and meeting up for a bite or a walk in the park turning into the impossible equation. This isn't rocket science.
I'm 6'1" tall, 195 lbs, a bit shaggy dark brown hair (which I might cut short again, not sure yet), hazel eyes, in pretty good shape but I'm not a workout nut at all (I do exercise a good bit but don't need a gym) - if you're still holding onto your dream of a blonde muscleman in a BMW to sweep you off you're feet, keep holding on and hit the back button. Always been told I'm cute, and that pictures don't do me justice, but I guess everybody thinks that... I like me, inside and out :)
I'm stout and huggable without being fat. I have been around the block, the country, and the world, and I am worth someone's devotion, care, time, and openness as they are deserving of all that from me as well. Someone not uptight, but not a doormat... a bit of bohemian usually makes me melt. Hippie girls melt me doubletime, unless they're the angry vegan-feminist-sort. Life is too short to be that mad at everything that's the status quo. I prefer a more Taoist approach, and I'm not giving up meat eating.
To get the lifestyle stuff out of the way, I smoke cigarettes (quitting is on the list but it's not a priority at the present time), I rock the 420 sometimes, if you want a health nut that's not me but I don't live on fast food and horrible stuff that's for sure. I don't drink a lot anymore, as I just got too damn old for it. Love going out and having some beers, but I can't rock tons of shots with you hard drinkin folks and I won't try. Attempted that enough times to learn my lesson hehe..... whatever's clever though, just don't be that girl that passes out drunk every time you go out, ya know? A lot of times I'll just pass on having the drinks cause I just don't feel like it, it doesn't always agree with my stomach.
I'd consider myself a sexy dork, very adept when it comes to physical affection... creative, knowledgeable, experienced, filthy minded.... Please don't be too wet behind the ears but don't be a major slut either.... just in tune with yourself. You can be thick, you can be thin, tall or small, just don't encompass me in those categories if you can help it.... sexuality/cuteness/hawtness/whatever is definitely in the eye of the beholder, and the individual. To quote Katt Williams, "if you don't think you the shit, nobody else will"
Ok, and right off the bat when I talk about what I like.... ***be between 21 and 42, and not a BBW, or so seriously skinny you're unhealthy. I will re-iterate this in the next paragraph just to be crystal clear.*** I do this just because a lot of the responses I've ever gotten online seemed to pay no attention to what I wrote.
Some of my weaknesses though are long hair (especially curly), girls who have an ASS (but not a fucking dump truck of an ass), bright eyes, flat tummies, cute little noises, accents, arms around my neck, hippie girls, girls who wear collars, skirts, .... too many things to list really. None of these things are required I guess I was just tossing words out of my brain :) I guess one of the main things is no BBWs or "extra curvy" ... I like curvy girls with bodies like real women, for sure, (too skinny is also blech) ... if you weigh more than me, then seriously move on. "Curvy" means Marilyn Monroe, NOT Rosie O' Donnell. Not trying to be mean to anyone, I just know what I can and can't deal with. If I wanted a mattress, I would buy one, and the laws of physics definitely play a large role. I'm a sweetheart, but damned if I'm not VERY honest. :)
I'm into many things culture and not so much, movie and music enthusiast(audiophile) and encyclopedia, I LOVE live music of many different kinds... I'm very street and book smart (doesn't mean you have to be) ... a wide variety of interests that I want to combine with someone else's somewhat, but also have my own things. I'm tired of pussyfooting around and playing guessing games, life is too damn short to be afraid.... and I know I'm not the only one that thinks that way :) Just curious to see what responses come in. Because it's kind of a small town I don't want to publish a photograph publicly on cl, but I have PLENTY of them and have no problem sending them over if you reply :)

looking for someone. (Grants Pass) 22yr
I'm 22 years old, and I have blue eyes. I just moved back to grants pass from southern California. I enjoy taking girls to movies, dinner, lunch at a park, or even breakfast at 2am. Im affectionate, but understand space. I have a "type." I like girls shorter than me. I'm 5'9 and prefer girls in the 5'6" > range. Shorter than me, thin, younger than me.
