We Met One Afternoon 35yr

Why most relationships don't last (Beaverton) 57yr

We can start with one or the other wrapped up in an addiction, this can be alcohol, drugs, eating, gambling and on and on. So remove those from the picture, I don't fall under any of those but I do smoke cigs and that is just the way it is. I also deal with, and talk to a lot of men on a regular basis about their relationships, marriages and divorces.

TWO facts, first if you F**k him when he wants, how he wants and when he wants he is walking around with a smile on his face and is a happy camper. I have known women that go and buy $50,000 SUV's without telling him, and his response is "That's ok honey, want me to fill the gas tank for you" and some that complain how she loads the dishwasher. Point is the one that gets what he wants in the bedroom, is usually overly tolerant of all her defects if she has some......and we all have some. When I ask the dishwasher complainer when the last time he got laid was ...... there goes the thought process, usually he can't remember when. men will not admit this, surveys and studies don't get it either........either you will try it or not, and see the results for yourself.

I have been single for over 10 years, and there is nothing I like more than to walk in my door at night KNOWING exactly what I am walking into. Then the phone rings and I remember why being or feeling a bit lonely on occasion is solitude, as my friends call and complain about the woman in their life...........

Besides if I was to pursue a relationship, I would be frowned upon as I am attracted to younger women, who fit the slim-slender description and would tolerate my BS, as I tolerate her's.........and in Portland they are few and far between. Social......not all that much any more and comfortable with that also. I will be retiring soon, and then I can do what I want, when I want, where I want......which is what I pretty much do now. I have no idea why I am sharing this nor who will read it but it is in my heart and my mind therefore I send it off into the skies.

I have a great life. Great kids. Great job. Great home. Everything is great yet, I feel lonely! What IS that? Am I selfish? I don't want to be.

When I am not with my kids or at work there is down time and THAT is when it hit's me pretty hard. Bed-time can be a nightmare until I fall asleep. Wakening up can also be a challenge. I guess those are sexual things missing and I am tired of not having that other person with me when I feel like making love. Sex. Whatever you want to call it.

There are times I'd like to go have dinner somewhere but not alone. There are times when I want to go for a walk but not alone. Go to a movie theatre but not alone. I've done all of these with my kids and alone but it is NOT the same with someone whom there is adult contact with.

Bottom line is there are times I feel lonely and it's during that time when life can suck! Other times that suck is when I see two people 'getting it on' and I'm not yet, I want too. I am happy for them. Not so happy for me.

What do we do when we have busy schedules with kids and work and don't seem to have time for a full fledged relationship? THAT is where I'm a little lost and lonely because I can't seem to figure it out.
