I'm a cat person. Don't even get me started, they follow me.
I'm an odd duck really. I like anything that strays from mainstream 'yawning' crap. I'm a 41 year old woman who's gainfully employed as a freelance editor on a number of projects. I have eclectic tastes. My interests are largely in the arts, but, I'm also interested in nature, science and technology. Some have called me a Renaissance Nerd, which I've taken as a compliment. I've recently moved here from California (for work) and a change of pace. I love the ocean. I'm very much into photography and enjoy taking pictures of the unusual and obscure.
I have an edge about me, but not in a pretentious, snob type way. Although, I am Jewish and have no trouble speaking my mind, and can be rather terse at times if people are abrasive to me. Generally, I end up feeling terrible for it in the end. I am educated as well as well travelled. I have a BA in both Fine Arts and English and a Masters in Film Studies. I've written and directed a few shorts and one feature that had a showing at the TIFF. One of my dreams is to make documentaries. So, yes, film is a really, really, really big interest of mine. I am fluent in french, spanish, german, arabic, and, of course english. I've seen a great deal of the world, except Asia. I haven't had much desire to wander that way yet. But, the Great Wall is something I'd like to walk across one day. I also enjoy music and dance (I'm just beginning to explore dancing more unabashedly). Generally, my music selection is obscure and ranges. I'm fairly non-judgemental and open to differences as long as it's not some flaky argument that holds no weight what-so-ever. I enjoy laughing, being around people with substance and I'm not adverse to 420. I like coffee, hate tea, and don't do Starbucks (what is it with their music selections?).
I am not into spending exorbitant amounts of money on doing things. I prefer the simpler pieces of life. Like painting a picture, wandering in nature with my camera, sitting by the ocean reading, taking in a free art show, renting films and having interesting talks afterwards, or just making a new dinner dish. I'm fairly simple in all my complexities. Saying that, I also enjoy spending money on frivolous things that appease me. You should see my hat, music and film collections not to mention my electronic excess, you'd laugh. I'm a sucker for Apple products and I don't skimp on my film gear.

So are you wondering what the new year will bring? I think that for this year it is time to actually put myself out there. Maybe you are looking just for a friend to go the movies with or try a new restaurant. Maybe if things work out, a relationship will develop. However, at the very least we will have taken a chance.
