An eternal optimist looks for love...again. (Rocklin/Lincoln) 48yr
I decided this morning that this whole on-line search for a relationship is just not going to work for me. I always think I am not as much of a romantic as others think I am, but I found myself determined to find someone special some other way...grocery shopping, stopped at a red light, wandering through Barnes & Noble...some way other than through the Internet.
This determined state of mine lasted 37 minutes.
Then reality returned.
And reality tells me that even though a chance meeting could certianly occur...the Internet DOES provide a very viable forum for possibly meeting a compatible companion.

So, I'm returning to California to hopefully resume my work as a designer; which fed and clothed me very well over the years. So, yes.. I'm starting over.. in a sense. And.. I might add.. with a great deal of hope in my heart...that a new future will form within this new beginning.
As for the man I seek...he would first be a gentleman. Probably soft spoken and very kind by nature. Someone with a fairly decent education, a good sense of humor, and fairly well rounded, over all. So yes, I'm looking for someone I would call.. a good man. He would also enjoy the arts.. along with music. For I was raised and schooled in both while growing up. So, music and art are very much apart of who I am. And, because of that, I enjoy visiting art galleries.. going to plays, musicals, etc. In fact, my picture reflects a three story Art Gallery I owned in Ashland, Oregon.
But, mostly, I enjoy quiet walks in the forest. Or, going to the beach; which I generally do with my dogs. So, I'm fairly simple in the things that bring me joy and happiness? I drift towards activities, that tend to quiet my soul down. So, I would hope this man, would also be of the same mind? Someone who would enjoy the same type of activities.
Also, I like to garden. Yes, I have always said, " I am happiest when my hands are in the dirt."! Which is true? In fact, I'm just now starting a new garden..along with landscaping a friends back yard. Which is where I live now. Beyond this, I enjoy cooking, baking, and having my friends over for dinner, once in awhile. Which is probably me.. in a show off mode? In that I love setting the table, creating the ambiance in the room... lighting the candles throughout the house, and playing, what I call good music in the background. And.. cooking dinner of course? But, I also enjoy working, and having quiet time to myself. So, I'm not a clinging vine, unless I fall madly in love with you. Then.. watch out! Ha! Yet, I don't live in fantacyland either? I realize writing someone, and getting to know them over the internet has ti take time? And, of course, I'm fairly new.. to all of this. And, a bit leery about communicating with a stranger? Because, to be frank, I'm not sure, if this is where I will find someone with the same kind of values, I have? Values I was raised with, which surround the church, and the type of family I came from. Who enriched my life with the values they taught me. Which I hope, will always reflect who I am withn my walk? And, I do consider myself a lady.. first. But, a cool lady, never the less. Who has the ability to kick up her heels.. once in awhile.
I also want to state, that I am not interested in dating anyone who is five years younger or older than I am. And, as far as these pictures go..the date timer was never set, so the dates are off.. The two pictures I have provided are about two years old. But, all I have, presently, in that, my computer with my pictures in it, were stolen...sorry? My hair is longer now, a little darker, as well. And of course, I don't normally wear glasses. In fact, this shot was taken, when I was closing down my store. So, it wasn't a good day. I read quite a few posts and did some deep thinking before I decided to post an ad myself. I've probably written this three or four times trying to write something witty and cute but found myself hitting the backspace button. Finally, I decided just post what is real and let the chips fall as they may. So first the basics: I stand 5"10 and although I don't sport a Barbie doll figure I do have curves that I've been told are in the right places. i guess that makes me a proud BBW. I keep my hair in a short but stylish cut that makes it easy for me to get up and go and not be bogged down with dryers and curling irons. I prefer jeans and t-shirts to dressy dresses, but I do enjoy getting spiffied up for a night out with someone special. I have various interests from sports,(playing and being a spectator in the stands) to travel. to sometimes just doing nothing and flipping channels to find something interesting or not interesting. I don't have children but don't mind if you do.
Now the other stuff: I don't like to limit myself to whom I would like to meet but here are a few preferences. I prefer you be close to my age. Too old and I don't feel we would have much in common, and the same can be said for too young. I also prefer a non-smoker of everything. I don't mind if you drink socially, but hopefully you don't make it a daily priority. Other than that the rest is open. Race, size, height is not an issue for me. Just be comfortable with yourself. I do have a pic to share but I'm not going to post here for all of the CL population to see. However, lets not make that the only reason you respond to me. I know what I wrote above is a bit vague and probably typical but hopefully you are as real as I am and think there are good people still out there, we just haven't met yet.
