Seeking someone special (Colorado Springs) 44yr

Let me tell you a little bit about me. I was raised here in the Springs, graduated from Sierra High School several years ago. I've since moved away and returned as a resident about 3 times. I returned to attend college from, have children, and be closer to my parents. I was married for 18 years and divorced in February 2009. Yes, that was difficult (and still is at times), but I am a much better person because of it. I am a healthcare administrator and about to start working for the largest healthcare company in the US. I have 3 dogs whom I love, love, love. They are Shih Tzu mixes and they are the main men in my life. I enjoy the great outdoors and I use whatever excuse I can to be under the sun. I love long walks, hikes, exploring, driving cross country, and meeting great people. I am an excellent cook, a neat freak (a bit of an OCDer) and I enjoy being around friends and family. I'm not much of a church goer, but I love God and I believe in being spiritually balanced. My weaknesses are good music, good conversation and good humor (good food is a weakness, too). I occasionally drink, but do not like the taste of beer or hard liquor. It's okay if you like it, though, but in limited quantities. I do not smoke and never will. The "right" person for me won't be a smoker either. I'm drug-free and have no addictions...unless you consider shopping an addiction. I don't watch much TV, but enjoy a good movie every so often. I like to read, surf the internet, and I'm a serious craft fanatic. That's pretty much me.

But what are my physical attributes? I'm 5'2" tall (if I stretch my neck up real high) and I have a medium build. That means I'm no toothpick, but I'm not obese either. It's obvious I'm comfortable with myself. I'm part Asian (Korean) and part mystery...I'd love to explain that sometime. I have dark hair that I'm trying to grow past my shoulders and brown eyes that always seem happy. I am 44 yrs old (big sigh). However, rest assured I do not look 44. It just happens that I almost got passed up for a job because the interviewer thought I was a young 30-something with no real life experience. Thank goodness he allowed the interview to proceed and learned there was so much more to me than "pretty". Oh, I'm a Cancer...emotional, creative, intuitive, sentimental. And I am left-handed. And I'm an only child.

Okay, now that I've painted a pretty nice picture of a successful, well balanced woman, what are the pitfalls? There must be because if she's so great, why is she single? Well actually, I've been in a relationship with a man for the last 2 1/2 years. He and I recently started a long distance relationship and, honestly, that is not going so well. I believe I agreed to this because...and this is going to sound just awful...I feel like a better person when he's not around. I really don't think it's appropriate to share more than that so I'll stop. Forgive me if I've come across as a negative person. Really I am not.

Now it's your turn to share. I look forward to hearing from you if you're someone who's got his wits about him, is balanced, good natured and has wonderful moral character. I'm not certain what it is I'm looking for, but if we only become friends, that is more than I started with. I will add this: if you have been unemployed more than you have been employed in the last year, please do not bother to email me. It is essential that you be your own sugar daddy. I'm not expecting perfect, but I'm not into poverty. Also, if you're 20-something, I think you'd be better off with someone else. I have two 20-something kids and that would be awkward.

Oh I should let you know something else. This might be the deal breaker. I have to confess that I do not enjoy horror movies. I'm a scaredy cat. I can hardly watch Goonies without freaking out. I know...pathetic, huh? But if you insist on going to a horror movie as a date, I know of a friend that would love to join you. I seriously would need therapy after something like that.

Tons of daylight & warm weather-what more can you ask for? It's time for music festivals, burning the candle at both ends, and seeing what this state and its surrounding neighbors have to offer. This time of year is perfect for enjoying both the wilderness and the more traditional offerings of CO, UT and NM vacation destinations.
