Looking for someone serious, but no rush for marriage (Central IL ) 34yr
I know the title of my ad probably sounds a bit. . . well, unorthodox. Why would someone want someone serious but not automatically work toward marriage? Here are my two reasons. One, I want to take a relationship slowly. I've learned from the long term relationships I've been that rushing things does not make for a healthy long term relationship. So I'm going to try a new approach. I want to talk to someone online, via email or messenger, on the phone. . . not quite the organic way, but just take my time. The last several dates I've gone on went from decent, even pretty good to crap when the end of the date came and they all pretty much expected sex. When I stated that I wasn't interested in that, suddenly the tone went from friendly to basically "F off." One guy even went as far as to hit on the girl who was sitting in patio of the bar we were standing next to at the time. If things start off slowly via forums where he can't slide his hand up my skirt, then I don't have to worry about this scenario. I'll know once we meet that there's a genuine interest that goes past sex. Reason two, the pickings in this town are a bit slim for my age group. Men here seem to have a bit of a God complex. Because it's a smaller town they feel they have their pick and that the university here provides them with a revolving door of lovers.
What I'm looking for in a man isn't that much. We'll go beyond all the clichés of honest, trustworthy, faithful, loves his mom type requirements. I want a man who's open-minded, ambitious, involved in his community, has a higher education, and is adventurous. We can catch a game one weekend, go dancing all night another, hit up Krannert the next, and round out the month with a weekend of just going where the moment takes us. It would be nice to find a man who's into variety and not the same ol C-U fun.
While I'm not a supermodel, MENSA member, or one of the world's richest I do feel I have a lot to offer. I'm genuine, open-minded, honest, and faithful. I don't do drama on any level. You want a night out with your friends, go for it. Even if there's going to be female friends there, that's not a big deal. Why? Because I would expect the relationship to be solid enough where trust wasn't an issue. I have too much going on to spend time on BS. I go to school. I work. I assist with research work. I volunteer. I have a beautiful child. And I'm starting my own non-profit. Once I'm done with my bachelor's degree I'm going to grad school to pursue a doctorate in psychology.
My schedule is incredibly busy I would like to find time to spend with someone who is a good guy. Yes I want him to have a job, but does it need to be a 6-figure income? No. Physical attraction is a must obviously, but I don't need Brad Pitt. Personality and a sense of humor are way sexier than a model exterior. You never know who you'll make a connection with. Ideally I would like someone in the age range of 27-36.
