That awkward herpes talk (Asheville) 39yr
I'm a woman who prefers long term relationships to dating, and in each relationship, there comes that awkward time, when things start to get serious, and you realize you're really digging a person, that you have to have "the talk". The anxiety of finding the right time and place and mood and words to bring up the topic - "I have herpes" - is such a drag! But here's the thing - about 45 million Americans have it - one in 5. So there's a reasonable chance that there is an awesome guy out there who ALSO dreads having the talk. And who will have a lot more (important things) in common with me than that one small thing. And we can just get that awkward revelation out of the way and move on to the FUN parts of getting to know each other and exploring Asheville together.
So let me tell you some of the other qualities I hope you possess, and you can get in touch with me if you think it's a good idea to chat further.
I love Asheville, and appreciate people who lean more left than right, who recycle and care about where their food comes from, who would rather eat at a local restaurant than a chain (there are SO MANY good ones in Asheville) and who tip well (because servers want to live nice, too). I love music, and would probably have at least a few common interests in this category with someone who listens to WNCW and WCQS. Singer/Songwriter is my favorite genre of music, and I don't listen to music that is "overproduced" and packaged for popular radio. Music should have soul. I am an optimistic person, and an empathic one. If you dwell on the negative or dismiss the importance of other people's perspectives, we won't get along. I believe in karma, and see the value of socking away good karma points (because it *always* comes back around). I think it is important to live an examined life, and to have values that see the big picture. I fall firmly into the "spiritual / not religious" category, and am not a member of any organized global religion - not because I haven't considered them, but because I have.
I am, by nature, romantic and affectionate. I can't turn it off. A man I date needs to be comfortable with public displays of affection. I am comfortable with sexual matters, and think sex is an important part of any romantic relationship. I am also a responsible grown-up, and work hard and am independent. Being able to take care of myself is empowering. It's also a very sexy trait in others, and one that will garner my respect and admiration for you.
Let's see, what else. I don't have children, I'm allergic to cats, I prefer winter and cold to summer and hot, I love NFL but could care less about any other sport, televised or otherwise. People say my energy is "calming" - not much rattles me. My sense of humor is irreverent. The absurd and askew makes me laugh. I'm sure everyone thinks they have a sense of humor (who doesn't love to laugh?) so - hopefully you're a person who knows the value of laughing often.

Some of my *other* favorite musicians past Adam are: Seraphim Shock, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, AFI, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Hollywood Undead, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica.... I grew up a rock fan but love an occasional helping of pop like Katy/GaGa or whatever else. I'm not really someone that limits what they listen to in any way. I've got everything from classical to metal on my iPod and I rather like it that way. I'm not *huge* on most rap music these days, but have been known to listen to old school rap a bit.
I am into tattoos, and have one of my own with plans for several more. I love piercings. I've got a taste for feather earrings and glitter but otherwise? My style is based on comfort. Jeans and tees are the way to my heart. I'm into people who are unique, who make me laugh, who can make me smile and who can make me feel at least somewhat good about myself. I also really intensely enjoy people that can type/spell. This ad is sort of long now, isn't it? I think this should get some of what I am across. In fact, it more than does. Ok, I'll admit, posting on here is probably something I would not have considered doing in this lifetime, especially with the abundance of weirdos that are roaming the net looking for a hookup. I am somewhat new to Asheville and between school and work, have not had much time or desire to go out and interact.
I really enjoy hiking, theres obviously no lack of great spots to explore around here. Animals are a huge part of my life, I love volunteering with the local rescues, but at home, its just my pup and me.
