Let's Make This Summer a Great One (Vancouver, WA) 52yr

Just to be clear, I'm not going into this looking for something serious, but I am looking for a real and long term. This is probably more of a vent but I really don't understand why this process seems so difficult for me but easy for everyone else?! I used to say I was single because I was too busy working to have time for anyone else - about a year and a half ago I kind of reevaluated my life and realized that why I am really happy as is it would be really nice to share life with. So I am admittedly looking for something that will be long term, I've had my fun and my "for a good time not a long time" guys and I never seem short on having dates but I'm about to turn my dating life into a blog that will someday become a book and a made for TV movie!

The last guy I went out with actually said he thought it was "controlling" that I wanted to plan a date - as in I said "what does your week look like, I promised some people I'd have dinner with them but I'd like to make time to hang out with you too" apparently committing to a night of the week for dinner was too much. I'm sorry but what are you doing dating if you aren't willing to schedule a time to meet one another? Spontaneity is great but early on it makes sense to say - hey let's hang out on Thursday right?!

I like to think of myself as fairly "normal" I've been told on more than one occasion that I'm beautiful or hot or pretty so feel pretty confident in the looks department, I'm smart - not in a stick in your face kind of way - but it's just a fact that I tend to catch on to things quicker than most which I've been able to translate in to my own business. I like beer (IPA or PBR), sports (seriously actually went to grad school specifically to study sports business & have season tickets to the Ducks and 80% of the twitter feeds I follow are ESPN related!), I like camping and hiking, I've traveled all over the world and as my friends have all paired off find myself in need of a new travel partner - as there are still several places on my bucket list, I have a dog and have held off getting a 2nd dog because I'm secretly hoping to date someone with a dog to keep my dog company (she gets lonely too!), I've lived in 9 different states growing up so Portland isn't where I'm from but not sure I want to live anywhere else. I make a pretty good guys girl but also have my heels (maybe that's my problem I'm 6'+ depending on my heels so it kind of limits the available dating pool as I kind of like feeling "short" next to my date :)

I'm independent but not to independent to appreciate a guy that likes to open the door or buy me a drink (but don't get mad if I offer to buy yours the next time!). I'm probably blunt to a fault I'd rather just deal with facts and make decisions than run around trying to guess what someone else is thinking or what their motivation is.

I am super tired of hearing people tell me I have to date a lot of frogs before I find my prince - it's odd life has not really led me to believe true love exists but there is something in me that still does believe that it does. Maybe that's sappy but I think the butterflies and the toes curling and the smile when they call (or in this day and age more likely to text) is important.

I want someone to go out for drinks with, to see a living social escape and decide to go escape, to cuddle up with the dog(s) and watch a movie, to make dinner for or with (did I mention I'm a fantastic cook!), to decide it's going to be hot this weekend and we should go find somewhere to camp and get drunk around the campfire, to go to game night at my friend's house, to go to ducks games or blazer games, or timbers games or winterhawk games, to go golfing at twilight, to be there for each other - I guess someone to have a relationship with? Is that so much to ask?

Summer Fling (Portland) 19yr

I'm back from college for the summer and I'm looking for a friend to spend some time with and get to know.
